Memphis/Nashville Adoptions
At ALIVE Rescue Memphis, we take placing animals in their forever homes very seriously. Our goal is to take the steps to ensure each animal/family pairing is an ideal match so the animal can live in harmony with his/her forever home. Our adoption application process is below:
Submit Application
• Applicants must be 21 years or older and must be able to provide proof of age.
• Applicant must live within 50 miles of Memphis or Nashville if interested in adopting and within 30 miles of Memphis if interested in fostering.
• Please allow 4-7 business days to process your application.

• Applicants are required to provide personal and vet references. We will be calling these references before approving the application.Interview
• Applicants will interview with the ALIVE Rescue President first. If approved, you will get to speak to the dogs foster family after.Home Visit (MEMPHIS ONLY)
• If in Memphis we will do a home visit to give the adopter the opportunity to meet their potential new best friend. If the adopter has other animals we will do an introduction to make sure everyone gets along.Pay Fee
• Currently, the adoption fee to adopt is $275 for ages 1 year and up and $300 for under a year.Sign Adoption Contract
• Once adoption is approved and fees are paid, applicants will sign our ALIVE Rescue Adoption Contract to finalize the adoption.Take the Pet Home

Additional Adoption Info
• We require an additional $75 training deposit at the time of adoption. You will be required to enroll and complete a training class with your new companion at one of our approved training facilities. Once ALIVE Rescue Memphis receives proof of the completed class, this $75 deposit will be refunded.
• Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided.
• All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed.
